I was reading an article about a beached whale unfortunately this is happening way too often. There are various reasons why dead mammals are washing up on shore but what really sickened me was what they found inside this whale - TRASH! Yes trash! This is something that can be avoided - discards from humans ends up in the ocean and is killing the marine life.
It seems so easy of a solution - do not throw trash out your car window, hold on to your trash until you get home to throw it away or until you find a trash can. Some people do not want to be inconvenienced and choose to throw the trash on the ground or in the waterways.
Wednesday was Earth Day and to celebrate the earth let's all try to do the right thing. If everyone can make a concerted effort to put trash or recycling in the appropriate can we will make a difference. It takes just one person that cares enough to pick up a piece of trash to start the process. Take just one minute more to safely discard it can make the streets, the fields and the waterways cleaner.
